and now she is vomiting. is it possible she got the virus from him? i didnt know it could take so many days in between exposure time…? I am asking because they have had it before in the past but it is always at the same time. Never seperately.
I hate to be the bearer of potentially bad news but I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone in the household ends up getting this virus. We have had an outbreak of a gastrointestinal virus each of the last two years. The most important question I ask people when they are being seen is how many bathrooms are there in the place that you live? If they say there is more than one bathroom then I advise them that one of the bathrooms should be exclusively for their use only of until all the symptoms of gastroenteritis are gone. Once those symptoms argon than the patient should go into the bathroom with a disinfectant spray such as lice all and spray every surface in the bathroom before anyone else uses the bathroom. If there is only one bathroom in the household then I advise them to buy a lot of disinfectant spray and use it after every time the bathroom is used by the patient with the gastroenteritis. Usually the virus itself is harmless but it can be very inconvenient. Remember if you use Pepto-Bismol for symptom control that a common side effect of using that particular product is that it can turn your tongue black, and turn your stools black (both of these are fairly harmless side effects that can scare people when they don’t expect them.so, to directly answer your question, your baby almost definitely caught this from your 4yr old, or they both got it from the same source. you say they had it before, they likely had another virus that had similar symptoms but there are many G.I. viruses in the world
